Mr. Cohen is the Managing Partner and Portfolio Manager at Caspian. He has over 25 years of experience investing in corporate credit, ranging from performing to distressed opportunities, through multiple major credit cycles. After joining Caspian in 2001, Mr. Cohen built Caspian’s fundamental research team, refined the investment philosophy, and led Caspian’s development into a leading fundamental credit manager. Prior to Caspian, Mr. Cohen was a Vice President in a proprietary distressed investing group at Goldman Sachs & Co where he was responsible for committing the firm’s capital to numerous positions throughout the stressed and distressed market, and he taught distressed investing to other areas of the firm. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Cohen worked as an attorney in the business, finance and restructuring group of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Mr. Cohen graduated cum laude from New York University School of Law and summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Corleto is a Partner and co-Portfolio Manager at Caspian. He has over 20 years of experience sourcing investments in both primary and secondary markets, trading all forms of credit instruments in secondary markets, and managing portfolios through multiple major credit cycles. Prior to joining Caspian in 2005, Mr. Corleto worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. for six years where he held positions including high yield research analyst, distressed research analyst, distressed bond trader and distressed loan trader. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Corleto worked as a high yield research analyst at BT Alex. Brown and CSFB. Mr. Corleto holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Perkins is the President of Caspian and focuses on business development, investor relations, and client solutions that utilize Caspian’s full suite of credit investment capabilities. In addition to his client-facing role, Mr. Perkins is a member of Caspian’s Risk Committee. Prior to joining Caspian, he was co-Head of US Institutional Business Development for Mariner Investment Group, where he worked closely with Caspian from 2002-2012. Prior to Mariner, Mr. Perkins worked in the financial services practice at Accenture on engagements covering trade operations, performance measurement, and systems integration. He graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, and he is a CFA Charterholder.

Ms. Best is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer of Caspian with responsibility for all investment and management company operations, processes, and technology across Caspian. In addition, she chairs Caspian’s Risk Committee and the Valuation Committee, drawing upon her unique experience as a credit investment research professional. Prior to her promotion to this role in 2015, Ms. Best was the Director of Research and a research analyst covering a wide variety of industries including banking, retail, supermarkets, aerospace, metals, industrials, and many other companies in leveraged credit and distressed. Ms. Best joined Caspian in 2002 from investment bank and restructuring advisor Wasserstein, Perella & Co., where she was an analyst. Ms. Best also serves as Vice Chairman of the boards of Marquette National Corporation and Marquette Bank. Ms. Best graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University.

Mr. Manz is the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Operations of Caspian. He joined Caspian in 2011 and has been responsible for accounting, operations, valuation, controls, and treasury functions. In addition, Mr. Manz is a member of Caspian’s Risk and Valuation Committees. Prior to Caspian, Mr. Manz was the Director of Operations at Camulos Capital LP. Prior to Camulos, he was a manager in the Operations Department of Soros Fund Management LLC, specializing in the operations and accounting of distressed and high yield securities. Prior to Soros, Mr. Manz was with Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder Inc. where he was responsible for settlement of international equities. Mr. Manz earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University.

Mr. Cromartie is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Caspian. Prior to joining Caspian, he was Associate General Counsel, Head of Marketing & Communications Legal at Vanguard. There, he was counsel to the firm’s advertising compliance group and marketing and communications business lines. He also advised Vanguard’s broker-dealer and advice services compliance groups. Prior to Vanguard, he was Principal Counsel at Apple. Mr. Cromartie graduated from Harvard Law School and received his Bachelor of Arts from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY). He is licensed to practice law in New York.
